American soprano, Jessica Siena has been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "extravagantly gifted". Her portrayal of Marie in New York City Opera's National tour of Donizetti's La Fille du Régiment, earned her critical acclaim throughout the country. The Kalamazoo Gazette said of her performance, " . . . her demeanor and vocal artistry permitted each [aria] to emerge convincingly". Daniel Cariaga of the Los Angeles Times said, "One would be hard pressed to bet exactly where this huge vocal gift is eventually headed: Wagner? Lady Macbeth? Aida?" Jessica Siena made her debut with the Music in the Mountains in both the Mozart and at Picnic 'n Pops. She was heard for the first time at the Tahoe Festival in a celebration of the music of Harold Arlen during July 2006 and she will appear with the Stockton Symphony in April 2007 for the soprano solo in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Ms Siena's engagements have included appearing as the soprano soloist in Mozart's Requiem with the Stockton Chorale in May 2006, the soprano solos in the Vivaldi Gloria for the Fresno Philharmonic in early April 2006, Violetta in La Traviata in February 2006, as soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah in December 2005 and on the stage in the virtuosic concert aria "Ah! perfido" of Beethoven in November 2005. She was lauded by both audiences and critics alike for her triumphant performance of Rosina in the Bear Valley Music Festival's production of The Barber of Seville. She has appeared with the Ventura Chamber Music Festival as both recitalist and concert singer. This brought her critical acclaim in her performance as a soloist in Mozart's C minor Mass. A former Southern Californian resident, Jessica Siena made her professional debut with the Los Angeles Opera in the leading role of Marla's Lunchbox, and in that same year appeared as Giulia in the Los Angeles Music Theater Company's production of Rossini's La Scala di Seta. While a student at California State University, Northridge, Miss Siena's successes included Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, the title roles in The Merry Widow and Floyd's Susannah, and Frau Fluth in The Merry Wives of Windsor. Miss Siena's many honors as a singer include being a national finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, a finalist in the Loren Zachary Vocal Competition, and a first place winner in the Palm Springs Opera Guild Vocal Competition.
